Jennifer Doering is an interior designer who鈥檚 currently working on the Sun Prairie and Neenah School District projects.
Every day is a little different for Jennifer 鈥� from leading client kick-off meetings to attending the walkthrough of the finished project, she enjoys the variety of her job.
What doesn鈥檛 change is her dedication to helping clients realize their vision for a project.
鈥淭he goal is always to provide creative and functional spaces,鈥� she says. 鈥淥n budget and on time, knowing there are going to be changes along the way. That’s the nature of construction, especially during a pandemic. That flexibility is important to success.鈥�
One of Jennifer鈥檚 favorite instances of helping a client realize their vision was for the special education program at Edgerton Elementary School.
鈥淎t their former building, the teachers had made their own sensory hallway with masking tape on the floor,鈥� she recalls. 鈥淔or the new building, we collaborated with the staff to make sensory boards and permanent floor decals. It鈥檚 been awesome to see them using and enjoying the new space.鈥�
Jennifer brings years of experience to her position at 海角社区, and much of it was from her first career as a fashion designer. After earning a B.F.A from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, she spent 14 years as a knitwear apparel designer before making he transition to interior design. 鈥淭here’s so much in common between the fields, in what we do, how we think, and how we approach projects,鈥� she says. 鈥淚’m definitely in love with where I’m at now.鈥�
Prior to her time at 海角社区, Jennifer earned an AAS in interior design and spent five years in an interior design role focusing on senior living.
Jennifer remains active in fashion design on the side. She鈥檚 a part-time college instructor at the Edessa School of Fashion in Milwaukee and the owner of a clothing line called Mas Mama. Check out what Mas Mama has to offer by visiting the , in Thiensville, and in Port Washington.
When Jennifer鈥檚 not working, teaching, or planning her next line of apparel, she鈥檚 busy spending time with her husband and two young children, Charlotte and Joshua.
