Kate Egan Named 2021 Women in Construction Honoree by the Daily Reporter

We鈥檙e聽excited to share that the Daily Reporter has selected Kate Egan, AIA, LEED庐 AP BD+C, EDAC as a 2021 Women in Construction honoree!

罢丑别鈥鈥痳ecognize the outstanding achievements of top women in the industry and those who, through their success, have paved the way for the success of other women in the field. Kate and 45 other women will be recognized at an awards dinner on Aug. 26, 2021, and will be featured in the Daily Reporter鈥檚 publication highlighting the achievements of these exceptional women.

Kate has been a critical member of the design team聽at 海角社区聽Architects聽for several聽large聽K-12 education聽projects, including the addition and renovation of , design and construction of the new Neenah High School, and several addition and renovation projects with the Waukesha School District.

Although her official role is architect, Kate wears many hats on these projects, from programming and space planning, to being a project manager and leader for junior team members. No matter which role Kate assumes, a key part of her success is her ability to listen. Whether she is working with clients, consultants, or other 海角社区 team members, Kate makes them feel heard and respected.

Kate is in the unique position of being able to work on that she attended as a child. She has taken advantage of this opportunity to improve the buildings of her alma mater by advocating for bright, open, and accessible spaces,聽illustrating聽Kate鈥檚 dedication to her community and the ways in which she consistently seeks to make a more equitable world through architecture.

Kate is a leader whether she is working with clients or the internal聽海角社区 team. Clients have commended Kate for her professionalism and appreciated her active involvement in every community listening session, site visit, and construction update. Kate has also been a leader within the company by mentoring emerging architects, coordinating professional development efforts, and spearheading thought leadership initiatives.

鈥淜ate鈥檚 optimism and聽innovation helped us complete an award-winning facility that empowers our learners and has truly assisted in聽transforming the learning experience for our staff and students,鈥澛爀xplains Scott聽Sabel, Superintendent of .

鈥淚n addition to her strong design skills, Kate is聽an exceptional communicator. She took on the important role of liaison between the construction company and聽Mayville Schools. We experienced many challenges throughout the three years,聽but Kate was always able to聽navigate our聽鈥榲alue engineering鈥櫬爄n order to聽ensure that our聽final results聽exceeded community聽expectations.鈥

We are so proud of Kate鈥檚 dedication not only to our clients but also to the wellbeing of students and teachers in the communities with which she works. We look forward to seeing her continued positive impact on communities across Wisconsin.
